PROFILE - La Table de Froidmont
Located in a 17th century farm, La Table de Froidmont is an educational and organic restaurant.
We present you this human and social project installed in Rixensart.
The history of the restaurant
Since 2011, the educational restaurant, La Table de Froidmont, has been training job seekers in the professions of kitchen and dining room assistant.
From the beginning of the adventure, the restaurant favors the hyper short circuit, which it confirmed in 2014 by opening its own organic vegetable garden.
Following the principle of "Farm to Table", La Table de Froidmont promotes healthy and environmentally friendly food by cooking fruits, vegetables and herbs from the garden.
The concept
The concept revolves around two main points:
- the socio-professional integration of adult job seekers
- organic, gastronomic, home-made and ultra-local cuisine
At La Table de Froidmont, it is also possible to organize private and professional events in a quiet and rural setting (terraces, garden, meeting rooms and guest rooms are available).
Children are always welcome: safe and spacious setting, adapted menus and free entertainment every Sunday during the all-you-can-eat brunch.
The values
The restaurant puts a point of honor on the quality of the dishes, the 100% home-made, the ethical consumption, the zero waste and the social and local economy.
To promote the vegetable garden, vegetarian options are offered and the dietary constraints of each person are respected.
All the decoration of the restaurant was made with recycled materials. For example, the bar area was made with old wooden frames from a local church.
Not to be missed
In addition to the Sunday brunch and the "Apéros de Froidmont" which have already been held for 3 years, La Table de Froidmont offers you for the 1st time "Les Apéros d'Hiver". The difference ? The "Apéros de Froidmont" take place during the summer season. We program a live concert, an animation for children and tastings of local products. Our restaurant also offers a sweet and savory organic buffet. The entrance and the activities are free. For the winter version, it will be the perfect occasion to gather and warm up the heart and mind with good comfort food. The first edition takes place on November 25th and will continue until March.
